If you're a fan of Spider-Man at all, you should read this comic. This whole thing could turn sour at any moment, but, at least for one issue, I'm certainly entertained. |

Amazing Spider-Man (2014) #10
Nov 20, 2014 |
If you're reading Spider-Verse, you need this issue. It just would have been nice to know which issues we didn't need up to this point. Some might think the story rotating on various dimes is exciting, but I think it's just sneaky. I feel like this issue could have been paced much better if Marvel hadn't wasted so much time and paper up to this point. This is the first time in the series that it feels poorly planned out. I really hope it gets back on track next issue. |

Amazing Spider-Man (2014) #11
Dec 13, 2014 |
We're about a third of the way through this event, and there have been some really cool moments and characters so far. I just wish it was shaping up to be a more consistent read. I will say that this one is a slight improvement over the last one, because at least something happens, but it suffers from sloppy execution. |

This was an ambitious undertaking to say the least, and it's been a bumpy road, but overall I have been enjoying it. |

Amazing Spider-Man (2014) #14
Feb 12, 2015 |
We've got one more chapter to go before we can really put this saga to bed. It has been pretty fun to throw every version of Spider-Man into one big pile at once and see them interact with each other. We got some new characters that have been very interesting out of the deal as well, and in the case of Spider-Gwen at least, some that might stick around. I'll hold final judgement on the series as a whole until after the Epilogue. |

Axis: Carnage #2
Nov 21, 2014 |
While the comedy is this comic is dark and sometimes gruesome (as the cover warns, this is no kid's comic!) it never feels too heavy or forced. It's almost like a really good Deadpool comic in some ways, and in other ways it reminds me a little of The Superior Spider-Man. I'd say definitely give this a read, especially if you're a fan of Carnage. So far it's been a pretty thoughtful and humorous examination of one of Marvel's crazier villains. |

Axis: Carnage #3
Dec 13, 2014 |
Overall, this was a very well written mini that took a look into one of Marvel's crazier characters and managed to make him sympathetic and change his status quo in a way that could stick if they choose to keep it. Like I said before, if you're a fan of Carnage, this series is a must read. |

Another excellent issue from top to bottom by Snyder that ends on such a shocking cliffhanger, even Sylvester Stallone will be on the edge of his seat. |

Batman (2011) #38

"Endgame" is basically the last major story arc in Batman before "Convergence" throws everything in the DC universe into a continuity-blender (again), but Snyder and Capullo's run has already carved out a permanent place in the history of great comics. |

Eternal Warrior: Days of Steel #1
Nov 5, 2014 |
This is a great introduction to the character of the Eternal Warrior. I went in to this issue completely cold, and it made me want to read more about this character. The exploration of the themes of losing one's faith and purpose, paired with the great looking art make for a great read. If you like the sword (or axe) swinging adventure of Thor and Conan, definitely pick this one up. |

Eternal Warrior: Days of Steel #2
Dec 4, 2014 |
Whatever the case may be, this is still a pretty good comic, and the third installment may improve the way I feel about this one. The story does a good job of placing doubt in both the mind of Gilad and in the mind of the reader. It's hard to say if everything is going to work out in the end for the hero, and at the very least, that keeps the tale interesting. |

Spider-Man 2099 (2014) #6
Nov 26, 2014 |
Even though this story isn't pushing the main Spider-Verse narrative forward, it is a good read. If you've been reading Spider-Man 2099, you'll enjoy this comic. If you wanted more of Lady Spider, like I did, this comic is very good news for you. I'll probably stick with this side story throughout the event. My theory is that Miguel is going to have some hard choices to make now that he's back home. |

Spider-Verse #1
Nov 14, 2014 |
Overall, if you just want to follow the main story, you can easily skip this. It's uneven and out of six stories, which is really only five plus a prologue, I thought two were really strong, two were so-so, and one was just out of place. If you're only interested in the main story, so far it looks like there really isn't much going on outside of Amazing Spider-Man. |

Spider-Verse #2
Jan 20, 2015 |
Once again, this book is easily skippable, especially for the price of admission. If I could get one book with Lady Spider, Spider-Punk, Fruit Pie Spidey, Newspaper Strip Spider-Man, and Video Game Spider-Man, I'd have one really good issue of Spider-Verse that I' gladly pay five bucks for. As it stands, we have two so-so books for twice the price. |

The Valiant #1

In the hands of such talented creators, The Valiant could be the rocket that sends Valiant into the stratosphere. If you've been hesitant in the past, now is time to put these comics on your pull list. Besides, any comic that leads to the return of Ninjak has to make any comics fan's shortlist of must-reads. |
