Doctor Who: The Tenth Doctor: Year Two #1
Oct 10, 2015 |
If you miss that good ol' days of David Tenant's Doctor this comic is for you. Doctor Who: The Tenth Doctor #2.1 is a great jumping-on point, feels like an old episode of the reboot, and hits the right notes. The story is formulaic and of somewhat lower quality than the show, but who cares? It's classic Tenth Doctor stuff. |

Metaphase #1
Aug 15, 2015 |
While some problems detract from the enjoyment of Metaphase, it is easy to let the imperfections be overshadowed by the heart and passion that was obviously poured into this project. Its unique premise, simple art style, and portrayal of a young boy with down syndrome make it a great read. The promise of another issue in the future is icing on the cake. |

Universal War #1
Sep 29, 2015 |
Denis Bajram has crafted a science-fiction masterpiece. Featuring many unique concepts, excellent characterization, and unique uses of sci-fi conventions, UW1 distinguishes itself as arguably the best graphic novel of it's kind, and certainly the most unique. The dense plot can be a bit hard to follow at times. That, combined with a somewhat dull first volume, and an out-of-place final volume, are the only real drawbacks. |

Vampirella / Army of Darkness #2
Aug 11, 2015 |
Vampirella / Army of Darkness #2 is an uninspired romp through the Evil Dead universe. Questionable art decisions and poorly written dialogue fumble what could have been a grand-slam of interesting interaction between two beloved, but well worn characters. Luckily, there's still plenty of room for the series to redeem itself. |

Vampirella / Army of Darkness #3
Sep 8, 2015 |
In the end, Vampirella / Army of Darkness #3 feels very much like a filler issue, occupying the requisite "#3" before we get to the real reason we're all here. Given that there's virtually no action this time around, and the character development is unsurprising and uninspired, fans of either Vampirella or Evil Dead could easily just skip this one and read the next issue without missing much. |
