Jem and the Holograms #5

Aug 3, 2015

Overall, it's a solid issue, of a solid comic, with bright, bold artwork that makes it well worth the buy. Next issue is the last issue of this particular arc, as Jem and the Holograms finally face The Misfits head on in what is sure to be a colorful climax.

Kaptara (2015) #4

Aug 8, 2015

Unfortunately Dartor is not nearly as fun or interesting as Keith who balances snark with moments of honest human emotion. Dartor is shallow in comparison. The art is still thoroughly well done, and the first half of the issue is great. Hopefully Dartor's story wraps up in a satisfying way that makes Dartor more likable as an individual character.

Starfire #3

Aug 13, 2015

Starfire #3 delivers continues to build the action of the series. The subtle approach of starting off slow and steady is winning out. By allowing Starfire some time to breath as a solo character, build a new environment for her to grow in, and develop her supporting cast Amanda Connor and Jimmy Palmiotti are enabling readers to relearn Starfire as a singular character.

Starfire #7

Dec 12, 2015

In my last Starfire review I was less than thrilled with what occurred, but Starfire #7 picks up the pace and throws in the interesting element of Dick Grayson into the mix. The continuation of Sol's storyline, and the growth between him and Starfire is developing nicely. My favorite issue to date is still Starfire #6 but issue seven brings together Starfire and Dick Grayson for the first time in a long while. That is more than worth the read.
