The art and the writing will keep me coming back, I just hope they pick up the pace a bit.

The book ends on a Star Wars note also with Peter's life forever changed and finding his father's weapon, in this case a special gun. While basically just an origin story, Guardians 0.1 is still very well done. A brilliant tale chronicling the story of a boy who was forced to grow up too fast, and accept an incredible journey and destiny thrust upon him. Sound familiar?

It's no easy feat to follow up Rick Remender on a title. But this book makes the best out of a small cast and unusual premise. Ross sets the tone of espionage. Spencer adds one of his twists in the closing scenes that make me want to stick around and see what happens, plus Taskmaster shows up in issue #2 also.

Will the first X-Man be able to redeem himself? What happens when Professor Xavier makes his inevitable return? Where does Cable fit in? Don't forget there is a younger "innocent" Scott Summers running around too.
