Colder #4

Feb 11, 2013

Though the plot was a little lacking in this issue, the ending completely made up for it. I'm really excited to see what kind of havoc Nimble Jack creates in our world. I love Nimble Jack, and there's so much for him to feed on in our world! I also like the element of tension surrounding Declan's temperature. By the end of the issue he is 29 degrees Fahrenheit and quickly approaching zero. I've already gushed about the wonderful art, but let's gush some more. It really helps to carry the story and it makes Colder #4 a visual buffet.

Colder #5

Mar 12, 2013

I was a bit disappointed in how this story ended. Most of Colder #5 was a wrap up of the previous issues. Which is fine but I was hoping for more. Still, the story is incredible, from the multiple references to Nietzsche to the incredibly creepy and delightfully horrifying language about cannibalism.

Doctor Who: Prisoners of Time #1

Feb 3, 2013

This was a fun and beautiful comic. Doctor Who fans will enjoy this series. They've done an amazing job of portraying William Hartnell's Doctor. All of my Whovian feels have been ignited. This was a wonderful introduction to the series. I'm excited for the next issue dedicated to the Second Doctor.

Doctor Who: Prisoners of Time #2

Mar 3, 2013

Scott and David Tipton clearly love Doctor Who and have once again managed to really capture him in all of his forms. I was concerned going into this issue that they wouldn't really capture the differences between The Doctor's regenerations but I they did this quite well. They made him subtly different without it being over the top. My fez comes off to you two! The intensity in the Doctor's eyes on the Francesco Francavilla's cover is amazing. It makes a Whovian tingle. Lee Sullivan's interior art was really fun! I loved the homage to the hats of the other Doctors. Easter eggs like that keep Doctor Who fans coming back for more!

Doctor Who: Prisoners of Time #3

Mar 24, 2013

I really enjoyed this issue. It is definitely the kind of fun Doctor Who adventure you expect when you open up the comic. My only real disappointment with the story is that they didn't focus on The Master. He's such a great villain and a foil to The Doctor in many ways. He's also a villain that ties Classic Who to New Who. Including him may have helped connect the New Whovians to the classic series. On the other hand I am so happy they put Sarah Jane Smith in here. Next issue is Tom Baker. I clutch my ridiculously long scarf in anticipation.

Godzilla #10

Feb 26, 2013

Overall the comic was much better plot-wise than #9. It was awesome to get to see Mechagodzilla and Mothra headlining this issue. The inclusion of Hedora, Kumonga, and Gigan was awesome. It didn't feel forced or like too many monsters had been introduced. However, I feel like the story isn't really moving at a pace I'd like to see. It seems like saving the world will probably end up taking at least 5 more issues. Which I guess is fine, but I'd like to see the story move quicker.
