Dawn / Vampirella #1
Sep 9, 2014 |
I recommend the Dawn/Vampirella crossover for fans of either character and the art of Joseph Michael Linsner. For some comic book lovers, youll find yourself forcing through the story at times. The cliffhanger at the end was a nice touch, but Im not sure how nice it will make you want to continue into issue two. |

Ex-Con #1
Sep 1, 2014 |
Ex-Con is a great start, with plenty of betrayal, intrigue, and a unique ability that is not used for good. Codys internal monologue is fun to read, with a cadence and personality that might make you feel sorry for him in future issues. But for now, I need to know what this favor requested by The Pope is, and if Cody will go through with it. Stinks to be him right now. |

Purgatori #1
Sep 15, 2014 |
A great first issue for Purgatori. The story is still in its infancy, with just enough information to let you know about the main cast and whats about to happen to them. Its one I recommend, even if you dont know who Purgatori is. |

Red Sonja: The Black Tower #1
Sep 2, 2014 |
The story is really played out in the first and last few pages of issue one, with some gruesome scenes and a twist, so the balance of the issue tips toward fighting. If this is how you like your Red Sonja, this is a fine start to this four-issue story. |

Terminal Hero #2
Sep 9, 2014 |
Terminal Hero is a great thinking comic, and issue two continues the external and internal battle Rory has with those around him and his emotions and new abilities. Some readers may hate him, some may feel sorry for him, and some may hope he answers for what hes done so far. This is a recommended comic. Grab that first issue and jump on board. |

The 7th Sword #4
Aug 26, 2014 |
Coming from a screenwriting background has translated to comic books well for John Raffo. This comic book series reads and progresses like a movie, and it wouldn't surprise me to see The 7th Sword in theaters in the coming years. |

The Delinquents #1
Aug 19, 2014 |
The Delinquents is a limited, 4-issue series of straight up tongue-in-cheek action and comedy. I hope the story tightens up (which I imagine it will once the four main guys are together) because I want to know who ends up with the treasure…and what it is. With this first issue, read it for the weird plot and nice illustrations. |

Trees #4
Aug 19, 2014 |
Trees has yet to disappoint me. I want to know what those stumps are doing there, how the characters will deal with it when hell breaks loose (because lets face it, it has to at some point, right?), and what will happen to the world around them. Between Elliss storytelling and Howards art, dont miss another issue. |

Twilight Zone #8

I admit I started Twilight Zone on issue five, which left me confused, but yearning for the whole story. While you can jump on at four or even nine when it releases, I recommend starting from the beginning because youll miss out on great storytelling. Issue eight is nearly mystical in its closing of Dianas arc. I cant wait for the next one. |

V-Wars #5
Aug 26, 2014 |
With deep characterizations, tidy plots, and intrigue to make Bond blush, V-Wars #5 continues the onslaught of thrills. If you havent started the comic, do so; if you are reading the comic, check out Maberrys book. You wont be sorry. |
