Archie Meets: The Ramones #1

Oct 14, 2016

I have to admit, as a fan of 80s punk, I was really looking forward to reading this one. The story which takes The Archies bickering bandmates back in time to find themselves as a band was really enjoyable. I really enjoyed the artwork especially for the 1970s New York scenes, which really took me back to being a kid. Despite being a longer one-shot comic, it was a very quick read. Have Blitzkrieg Bop cued up on the iPod for this one!

Betty & Veronica (2016) #2

Nov 14, 2016

I really like the newer reboots of these Archie books. Very clean artwork, and fun, modern stories which still retain the spirit of the originals. This one was longer, but was a quick and entertaining read.

Dishonored #1

Aug 15, 2016

I loved the artwork in the intense battle scenes, and found it reminiscent of the style of Marvels Ultimates line. For those familiar with the game, I think the character development would be an added plus.

Eclipse #1

Oct 24, 2016

Those of you that have read any of my other reviews, know that I like the post-apocalyptic type tales, and I thought this was intriguing. Nice weaving of backstory without bogging down the story. I especially like how the artist, Giovanni Timpano contrasted his styles from the night scenes to the day. The day scenes seem as bright as when you walk out from a movie theater into the sunlight. Looking forward to where this one could goand what is up with the mysterious killer.

Eclipse #2

I really like where this is heading, and am curious as to why the villain can survive in an environment where no one else can.

Eden's Fall #1

Sep 13, 2016

This first issue of Eden's Fall was an extremely entertaining read. First, I loved how it brings together character elements from three different titles: Think Tank, The Tithe, and Postal. With it being the first, there obviously are a lot of character development points, but writer Bryan Hill did an excellent job of keeping the story moving while introducing the major players to us. I really enjoyed the very crisp artwork from Atilio Rojo as well. I would highly recommend this for anyone who enjoys spy stories or suspense. It will be interesting to see where this goes, but it has a very Mission Impossible like vibe to it.

This one hit the ground running, and doesnt appear to be letting up. I rate it a 5 of 5 again. Excellent work from the team of Hill, Rojo, Hawkins and Russell.

James Bond: Hammerhead #1

Oct 11, 2016

Love the very angular artwork in this one. The action sequences flow very well, and the first issue was a very entertaining read. Can't wait to see where this one goes, and how many bad guys are left in 007's path.

Reggie and Me #1

Jan 3, 2017

This one reads quickly, and is really fun when you find out the story is being told from the perspective of the dog, who obviously thinks his master can do no wrong. The artwork is great, and the story really does read like a super-villain origin story.

Revolution #1

Sep 26, 2016

With all of the creators involved with this, you would expect the artwork and the story to be great, and you would be right. I told you of my skepticism in the beginning, but from the opening panels, Revolution grabs your attention, and doesn't let go. I can't wait to see the next issue, and see how the Joes can find an answer to their foes.
