Capture Creatures #1

I don't necessarily think it's a generation thing, but perhaps I'm now used to dark adult-oriented stories that the appeal in ‘Capture Creatures' lies in either the enjoyment for younger children or adults who feel it captures their child-hood in terms of magical creatures, imagination and innocence. However, it will undoubtedly be a success and you know never know, further issues may grow on me. |

Personally, I have high hopes for this series. With an intriguing debut issue and a plot which has many strings to its bow, I cannot wait for further editions and to explore this incredible world. |

A brilliant character driven drama with an added mix of human emotion and a world going to hell, further issues should hopefully see these established relationships and ideas develop and even gain a few twists and turns along the way. |

Black Mask must be pleased with this series, it's clever and intense and continues to deliver some of the most humane characters I've come across in any science fiction story in a while. Now I want the New Year to hurry up so I can read issue 4! |

While this review centres on the final issue, it is also important to retrospectively look back at the series as a whole. I can honestly say it has been an enjoyable four issues that while completely bonkers, remained credible until the end. Patrick Meaney's debut has proven just how imaginative this medium can be and hopefully there will be many more incredible stories from him in the future. |
