Adventure Time Comics: Summer Special 2013 #1

Aug 2, 2013

Adventure Time is not just for kids though. It has elements of science fiction, weird science, chemistry and all kinds of Adventures. When I suggest Adventure Time comics to people they love it and can't believe they haven't been reading it all along!

Bravest Warriors #12

Sep 20, 2013

If you are looking for a fun, funny, bright colored comic, Bravest Warriors would be my pick for you. Don't forget to pick up Adventure Time as well. Both are fantastic!

Daredevil: Dark Nights #3

Aug 14, 2013

There are 5 more issues to Daredevil Dark Nights, and although this story had a much needed happy ending, we don't know what is in the works for the other 2 stories. Eisner Award Winner David Lapham will do issue 4. The second story will be called “What a Day, What a Night" and you can check that out in September. I advocate the reading of as many Daredevil Comics you can possibly handle. They are good for the comic soul.

East of West #7

Nov 11, 2013

I like the fact that we can read comics that don't always have a clear hero. It keeps us guessing, and hoping. Image has been on fire lately with titles such as The Walking Dead, Saga, Ten Grand and so many more books. You can add East of West into that exclusive group! Image books move to the top of my read pile this week!4.5 out of 5 nerds

Hawkeye (2012) #13

Oct 18, 2013

More good news for Hawkeye is that they will be rotating issues between Clint and Kate. Even numbered issues will be about Kate's Adventures in Los Angeles with art by Annie Wu. Odd numbered issues will be about Clint, with David Aja, just as it should be! They will rotate issues until the end of the year. I only hope that they throw some Pizza Dog issues in there as well, since it rocked!

Hawkeye (2012) Annual #1

Jul 25, 2013

In my opinion Hawkeye has been one of the best Marvel Titles. It's more laid back than some of their other titles, and easy on the eyes. It tells stories about everyone that Clint cares about, even Pizza Dog, and who couldn't use a little bit more Pizza Dog in their life! There is a reason that Hawkeye is up for Eisner's and Harvey Awards. The fan base is growing, and the quality of the work speaks for itself. If you haven't read any Hawkeye yet, you can always get the trade. Go treat yourself!

Itty Bitty Hellboy #1

Aug 29, 2013

This day and age, when kids comics are few and far between, it is so important to support comic creators that focus on our smallest heroes. Art and Franco have taken a Mike Mignola character and opened up a whole new kid fan base. The little kids that read this may grow up to become big Hellboy fans! I highly encourage the reading of any Art and Franco books.

Itty Bitty Hellboy #5

Dec 20, 2013

While I am sad to see Itty Bitty Hellboy go, I am super excited for Itty Bitty Battlestar Galactica due in January. Who better to do it than these two? They prove time and time again that their kids' comics are the best. They bring small readers to the table, and make them laugh. They make people like me expand, and buy comics I never thought I would. When it comes right down to it, Art and Franco make the world a better place.

Li'l Battlestar Galactica #1

Jan 17, 2014

This is why I can't express my love of their comics enough. I have kids, and I want them to walk in to the comic shop excited to buy comics. I want them to tell all their friends about the cool Battlestar comic, or Superman comic they read. This is my wish for all little readers; Art and Franco make it very easy by creating funny, quality, amazing comics. They take things that we can't really share with our little ones, and make them all ages. That makes them my favorite kind of creators.5 out of 5 nerds

Phantom Stranger (2012) #15

Jan 12, 2014

The art is superb, and I like the fact that there were 2 artists working on it. The art changes once we see Constantine and Swamp thing. Sepulveda uses warm orange colors and the faces look amazing. I'm not too familiar with his work, but these 2 pages made me a fan. Blanco's colors are blues and reds. The detail in the panels fits the story that is being told. I am very happy with how this issue looks.

Powerpuff Girls #1

Sep 27, 2013

With this comic, and a new CG animated special, coming to Cartoon Network, it is easy to see why the fans are geeking out! This is a family friendly, all ages book. You can go on a journey to find all the variant covers. That way little hands can read them, and yours will be safely in the bag and board. Not to mention the one that can be saved for when they are older. Recommended for everyone to enjoy!

Saga #15

Oct 31, 2013

Saga continues to be one of the best ongoing comics being made right now. With Staples and Vaughan at the helm, bringing the heat, it is easy to see why it is doing so well. I highly recommend it!

Thor: God of Thunder #11

Aug 23, 2013

If you have been living in Mordor and not reading Thor, now is the time to pick it up. You can easily catch up or just jump right in. The story, art and humor this team brings are why Thor is at the top of a lot of read piles.

Trillium #3

Oct 4, 2013

Trillium combines Science Fiction and adventure, challenging your perception to try and figure out what is going on. The story is so compelling and easy to digest with our minds. Lemire brings us a solid art style that fits this comic perfect. It almost looks like this comic should be a painting in the MOMA. The watercolor like style and the strokes that are used puts this comic at the top of my read list. Trillium is an 8 issue series, and believe me, you don't want to be the only one missing out on this incredible beauty!

Trillium #5

Dec 8, 2013

With 5 issues to go in Trillium, it seems like we are still just getting started. Each issue brings something fresh and new to the table. I would like to see if the Trillium flower has the desired effect, because this is what started everything. I love everything about this comic. The art, the characters, the story, the romance; it's no wonder Trillium is getting huge applause.
