Bloodshot: Reborn #2

May 26, 2015

Summary: Bloodshot Reborn is one of the best starts to a series Ive ever read. Micos dynamic layouts complements Lemires strong plot in a way creators and readers alike could only dream of. This is the exact definition of dream team folks, and the number one reason why its a prime time to jump on the Valiant bandwagon.

Deep State #6

May 14, 2015

Summary: The second arc of Justin Jordans Deep State continues to deliver on some exhilarating exposition while still finding a way to push the main mystery ahead. Its sad the two leads werent more involved but there were clear parallels drawn between the retired Control agent Anne Marie and our protagonist. Although it seems Annas warning about control may be too late, as our protagonist may already be in too deep. Its clear why Deep Secret was optioned for a TV series before the second issue was even released. This series has intrigue, mystery, and great lead characters that if in the right hands could easily carry a primetime drama slot.

Hit: 1957 #2

May 6, 2015

Summary: Carlson and Del Reys HIT: 1957 havent given us much new for the crowded Noir drama world, but theyre handling tropes weve seen before in this drama very well, and have created a story with interesting characters and conflicts that I want to see the resolution too.

Indestructible: Stingray #1

May 29, 2015

Summary: Stingray #1 had flashes of brilliance from both the well-paced plot and art, but some hiccups held both sides back from creating a truly great #1 issue. However, theres still enough fun and intriguing plotlines here to make this comic a worthy addition to your pull list. Hopefully, if this series continues, the creators can reach the full potential they flashed throughout this book.

Ninjak (2015) #2

Apr 25, 2015

Summary: With the world building from issue one complete, Matt and crew couldfocus on showing one side of Ninjaks many skills. The results made for a funbetter paced corporate espionage tale, with a cliffhanger that leads me to believethe next issue will focus on the ninja side of Ninjak! With another engagingflashback and back-up story, Ninjak is giving readers a lot of bang for their bucks.

Psycho Bonkers #2

Jun 24, 2015

Vinces well-paced plot is greatly completed by a wonderful art team that brings this book to life. The relationship and banter between Shine and her crew continued to be my favorite part of this series. I love this trio and after every scene with them Im eagerly wanting more! Im nervous that there are too many characters to have a satisfying conclusion in two issues, but Im excited nonetheless to see how everything comes together. Bottom line, There arent many for all ages books that I can recommend to adults, this is one of them and deserves to be supported. This is truly a fun series for ALL ages that shouldnt be missed.
