Jan 27, 2016

Black Canary is a fun comic to read, and will hopefully continue in this punk but enjoyable direction in the future.

Monstress #3

Jan 27, 2016

Monstress #3 breaks the use of flashbacks, however, and sticks to an entirely linear structure. It doesnt cover much in terms of timeline, but pulls finer details into a more cohesive and fuller story. As usual, the comic works for its Mature rating, but if readers can stomach the blood, Monstress is absolutely worth the read. Monstress will return after a short break in mid-March with #4.

Nowhere Men #7

Overall, Nowhere Men #7 is a good continuation of the previous story and a strong beginning to the new one.

Wolf #5

Jan 20, 2016

Wolf does have lighthearted moments (enough to balance out the seriousness) but it is a comic better understood on a second reading. Kot is well-practiced in holding back on the reveal, and again, Wolf is no exception. Readers know enough to understand the story, but will likely get the sense that more of the little details will click into place as the story progresses. Wolf #5 is a compelling start to the new plot line.
