Batman and Robin (2011) #19

Apr 19, 2013

Overall “Denial” featured several positives. However, I do hope to see some improvements to the man in the cape and cowl in the next four stages of grief. Tomasi and Gleason set my hopes so high for this title after the amazing work in Batman and Robin #18 butthis time they fell short.

MacGyver: Fugitive Gauntlet #1

Nov 6, 2012

There is a great piece at the back whereby you learn how the TV show came into existence that is an informative bookend to a great debut issue. All the pieces seemed to have fallen into place here and the series is off to a great start leaving the book in a good position moving on.

Ten Grand #1

This titles premier issue was a fantastic start to what I hope becomes a very successful series. Joe Fitzgerald is an interesting take on a classical character archetype, and Im definitely looking forward to seeing what the future has in store for him.

The Dream Merchant #1

This title didnt re-invent the wheel, but with that being said, it is a solid addition to Images roster. The book has concrete storytelling with a good hook, and artwork that fulfills some nostalgia.

The Walking Dead #110

May 9, 2013

This issue is extremely unsatisfying. There is barely anything in it to push the current story arc forward. The Walking Dead franchise should have enough cache by now to either add more pages to each issue, or release the book more frequently. Though, Kirkman actually addresses this in almost every letters column as something that heisn'twilling to do. If thatisthe case, they need to stop wasting the few panels they have on irrelevant information. Should this trend continue, I highly suggest fans wait for TPB editions to keep them from completely losing interest.

Weird Detective #1

May 25, 2016

The oldest and strongest emotion of mankind is fear. And the oldest and strongest kind of fear is fear of the unknown. Weird Detective gives us plenty of that, while treating fans of horror comics to a story they feel they know, but have never quite seen this way.
