Black Sable #1

Oct 31, 2017

Verdict on Black SableAll in all The Black Sable #1is a good introductory issue. We are introduced to the world of Black Sable and its many villains. I like Black Sable herself and I'm interested to see where the series takes her. I wish the first issue wasn't loaded with so many plot threads and characters but perhaps it will pay off later. If you're interested in trying a Zensescope title, then this is a good start.

Black Sable #2

Nov 9, 2017

I'm definitely going to continue reading this series. It's only going to be 6 issues long so it's not a huge commitment by any stance. There's a lot going on in just two issues so far and my gripe from the first issue persists. Issue #1 introduced way too many characters. Now the series has no choice but to slowly develop each one as they go. I really hope Black Sable takes a stronger lead and lives up to the title of the book. I'm also dying to see her confront Captain Blood, who is my favorite villain of the bunch. If you enjoyed issue #1 then you should also enjoy this entry.

Hack / Slash: Resurrection #1

Nov 11, 2017

Overall I really liked Hack/Slash Resurrection #1. Cassie Hack is strong character that can carry the book. The pacing and story telling is great. The action looks like it's going to deliver the gore I was hoping for. And I really don't know what to expect next, which is good thing.

Vampirella (2017) #7

Nov 10, 2017

Be Afraid, Be Very AfraidI'm truly astonished that Dynamite Entertainment would hire Jeremy Whitley, especially since his most recent run on Unstoppable Wasp at Marvel was canceled after only 8 issues. Luckily this run is only planned until issue #11 because this new direction is not off to a good start.

Witchblade (2017) #1

Jan 13, 2018

Overall I liked this new take on Witchblade. I like Alex's nuanced personality and clear motivations. Here's hoping that transformed armor looks good when the witchblade comes into full play. I think old fans will like this new run if they don't come expecting Michael Turner artwork.
