In The Man of Steel #4, writer Brian Michael Bendis's decompressed style of storytelling finally catches up with the events of Action Comics #1000, which he and Jim Lee presented back in April. That alone makes this week's issue the best of this plodding series, although Kevin Maguire's gift for visual storytelling helps keep the pace up even on the (few) pages that nothing is happening.
