Fatale #16
Aug 8, 2013 |
he only real downside, if one could call this a downside at all, is how dense the story is. The narrative has spanned centuries at this point and absolutely nothing has been spoon-fed to the audience. The very first issue of Fatale gave me enough to know that this story was going to be a slow burn. And, I definitely got the impression that my experience would improve when I went back and occasionally reread the stuff that came before as the series progresses. This comic demands patience and it rewards repeated scrutiny. |

Saga #13
Aug 12, 2013 |
Being that its a character-driven epic, anyone who loved Vaughans writing on Y: The Last Man would have no problem embracing this series. I heartily recommend it to anyone whod been looking for a comic thats biting, verdant, unique, funny, beautifully drawn, and occasionally heartbreaking. This issue starts a new storyline and, with the first two trades kicking around Amazon for a reasonable price, this is a good point to jump on the bandwagon if youve been curious about Saga. Im beginning to suspect that, once the narrative reaches its conclusion, this comic will be ranked alongside the creative teams finest efforts. |

Dynamite may have pulled The Black Bat out of the mothballs, but they still havent found a way to make this character anything but dull. |
