Star Trek #1 |

Overall, Star Trek #1 is an excellent start to what could be a very exciting new chapter in the Star Trek universe. It brings together the history of Star Trek while giving Seven of Nine the opportunity to finally step into the spotlight and command the Enterprise-G. There’s enough character, emotion, beautiful artwork, and mystery here to keep me invested. For a franchise celebrating 60 years, Star Trek #1 feels like a pretty damn good way to start the next chapter.

Dungeons & Dragons: Total Party Killers #1 |
Jul 22, 2026
show

|
Dungeons & Dragons stories typically revolve around a ragtag team of misfits coming together to save the day in one way or another. While that’s certainly not a new concept, it’s a formula that continues to work when it’s backed by memorable characters and a compelling adventure. Pair that with strong artwork and vibrant colors, and you have the makings of a genuinely entertaining first issue. By the time I turned the final page, I was already looking forward to seeing where this party’s adventure goes next.

After just one issue, Ghost of the 21st Century has all the makings of a standout series. It takes one of Trek’s oldest running jokes and turns it into something compelling. Who would’ve thought that a book centered around the franchise's most expendable crew members would end up being one of the most engaging stories in modern Trek?

Star Trek: Celebrations 2026 #1 |

There is no redefining of established lore or reinvention of beloved characters. There is no massive universe-altering moment or overly dramatic “event” twist (think Locutus of Borg). The book is better without. It stays focused on smaller character-driven narratives. That said, if you are looking for huge spectacle, universe building, or game-changing moments, this isn’t for you. It’s a fun read and a good reminder to us all of what Star Trek is.
