Lemon Pepper Huggz - Cookietown #1 |

In the end, its a heartfelt story of friendship and family. Its a story young Latinx children would love with characters they can resonate with, while also having the explanations/translations added so that children of other cultures can enjoy them and learn something new. We desperately need these voices to reach young ones ears and I applaud the creators for a really good story that anyone can enjoy. I place Lemon, Pepper, and Huggz on the same pedestal as P, B & J; Goofy, Donald, and Mickey or any other beloved trio for that matter. I cant wait to see more of their adventures in future issues.

The Family is a fun read, and the illustrations are beautifully done in a unique style reminiscent of Lenore creator Roman Dirge. You can see Pat Higginss talent and skill shining brightly in this book, which conjures up nostalgia of reading old comics and graphic novels under the covers with a flashlight. As with his other graphic novels, you can get Pats The Family from his website, pat-higgins.com,so you can enjoy this wonderful little story full of life, love and intrigue.

Rakan Sindi and Kali Baker-Johnson have created a Superhero for a new culture sweeping the Arab world based on real-world events. We wanted to create a superhero that Middle Eastern youth could relate to, while also demystifying the Muslim world for the West, says Sindi. We think we ended up with something really unique.
