Batman (2016) #56

Overall, the dialogue and story were incredibly dull, with the art helping improve where the story lacks, but not by much.

Batman (2016) #57

If this run gets any worse than 'Beasts of Burden,' DC may as well just cancelBatmanaltogether and letDetective Comicsbe the main title for Batman.

Batman: Damned #1

Sep 19, 2018

This was a great start to bothBatman: Damnedand DC's new Black Label. The writing was stellar and the art was gorgeous, which made this a near perfect comic book. My only complaint is that the placement and coloring of Constantine's narration made it hard to read in some panels. This is definitely one of DC's best books in a long time.

Cemetery Beach #1

Sep 12, 2018

Cemetery Beach #1 was a strong first issue with good writing and explanative detail that set up the rest of the series really well. Howard's art was stellar and I can't wait to see more of it.

DC/Hanna-Barbera: Deathstroke/Yogi Bear #1

Oct 30, 2018

Overall, this is easily one of, if not the best, DC/Hanna Barber crossovers yet, and I'm disappointed it's only a one-shot. A strong story and stronger art make this comic a delightful read that will put anyone in a good mood.

Justice League: Odyssey #1

Sep 26, 2018

Justice League Odyssey #1 was a strong first issue which seemed to be more setup than anything due to the rewrites, but with great art and a compelling story, this book could really take off if it doesn't face any more editorial delays.

Shazam! (2018) #1

Dec 4, 2018

Shazam#1 is one of DC's best comics in years, with Johns writing at his best and Eaglesham nailing the profound color and cheesiness that a book like this should have.

The Dreaming (2018) #1

Sep 6, 2018

The Dreaming #1 is a fun read that sets up tons of interesting stories to come but isn't very friendly to new readers, although Evely's art makes that almost completely irrelevant due to how transfixing it can be.
