I haven't decided yet whether I want to join the future. There's a lot to like here, but it could've done so much more.

No One's Rose #1

I could go on and on, butseriously, just go read it.No One's Rose is a splash of color and a beam of hope in a muted and dark time. This book is something special, and I can't wait to see it grow and blossom.

No One's Rose #2

Jun 10, 2020

Tenn describes the growth of the tree in her lab as unprecedented and impossible. Those superlatives are apt here. When I read No Ones Rose, Im reminded of both the imaginative power that drew me to comics in the first place, and, too, of the important work that comics, and sci-fi more generally, do to open our minds to concepts beyond our wildest imagining. If the first issue was a seed, then this sprout grew and grew. There is no doubt in my heart that Id follow this team to the Grey Zone and back, only for the chance to hear them tell the tale.

Wolverine (2020) #1

Feb 19, 2020

I think there's something for everyone in Wolverine. Percy spins plates like crazy, plays in two completely separate genres, and still manages to give Logan's demons their due. Do you want an X-Force spin-off? Great. A mystery with intrigue ripped from the headlines? Awesome. A horror-slash-adventure romp? Excellent. This book has all of that andsomekiller art. Even if I felt sometimes distracted from the character work by overwrought action, this book made me, a Wolverine skeptic, interested in the man behind the claws. Benjamin Percy cares about that man too, and he's nowhere near done with him.

Wynd is poised to be kind, and warm, and exactly the sort of wonder that the world needs more of. And Im so happy to be along for the trip.
