While I cannot talk about the story, I can talk about the extra gorgeous artwork by Greg Land, Jay Leisten and Justin Ponser. Sojourn is a book that looks gorgeous in general, but the gents in the art department really outdid themselves. First, Arwyn is a looker in every issue, but in this story, she is not only a knockout--a dangerous knockout--she is a happy knockout. Her elation and her warmth just emanate off the pages. By depicting her from an earlier period and displaying her emotions through the artwork alone--there is no dialogue--the team show exactly how dead inside she's become after Mordath murdered her family. They show that yes, she is still beautiful, but she's hollow. A piece of her has been ripped out. The portraits of the happy Arwyn affect the reader, and any book that does that is something special. That it happens in a clever werewolf story is even better. Read Full Review
