  The bit where their Triad-merge backfires and gets them jumbled up with Firestorm is clever, and it makes sense, but other than that there's not really a lot to mark them as a necessary part of the story. That lowers the rating for me. Granted, we're combining one of comics' best-known and one of its least-known properties, so it would make sense for the League to take a leadership role. Instead, though, it often seems to both the readers and, most likely, the JLA, that the 99 are just getting in the way. Read Full Review
