Batman and the Metal Men team up (more or less) to battle Dr. Daedalus and Icarus and his rogue robbing robots; R4573 and Klang are robots greeting each other at the First International Robot Exposition where the action starts. And Batman’s anti-robot bias is cured over the course of the story.
