"The Bronze Doors" part 1! The goddess Athena sends Wonder Woman on a journey to retrieve something believed lost to the Olympian Gods forever. Joined by Wonder Girl and Ferdinand the Minotaur, Wonder Woman must face unimagined peril to complete her mission. But should she succeed, what will Diana ask in return from the all-seeing Goddess of Wisdom?

With sharper preparation and plotting, this issue could have been perfect, but Rucka doesn't manage it. Perhaps he already saw these steps in his mind and took them for granted to be in the reader's mind's eye, or perhaps he has been distracted prostituting his talent on lesser works that end up with Blue Beetle being head-shot by Maxwell Lord. Never the less, Wonder Woman impresses through Rags Morales astonishingly non-exploitative artwork and a tighter grasp to the writing. I'm going to hate dropping this book when Countdown to Johnsicide begins. Read Full Review

At any rate, this is a beautiful and promising issue. Lets hope Morales (what a long way hes come since Hourman days) top drawer talent will bring out the best in Rucka, too. Read Full Review
