This gorgeous one-shot is an exquisite tribute to three of the most acclaimed comic book artists of all-time: Steve Ditko, Jack Kirby and Wally Wood. Acclaimed cartoonist Sergio Ponchione pays tribute to the "holy trinity" of DKW in this wildly imaginative book, split into three chapters, with each chapter drawn in a pitch-perfect homage to one of his idols. A must-have for fans of these Silver Age legends.

Comic Spectrum - Bob Bretall
Jul 05, 2014Ponchione has created a beautiful homage to three of the greats. Each of the three spotlight pieces is evocative of the style of the master he's focusing on without directly copying their style. This is just as suitable for those of us who have been aware of these comics gods for most of our lives as it is for people who are only somewhat familiar with them, or who (gasp) don't yet know who they are or why they're important to comics. I will say it again because it bears repeating: This comic is a must read for all fans of comics. Read Full Review

Comic Book Bin - Dan Horn
Aug 08, 2014Milburn's Twelve Gems is one of those unexpectedly brilliant little books with a lot of heart and artistry. There are some plot holes, but this isn't really the kind of book where one should get wrapped around the plot-axle too much. It's a swift and rewarding read for fans of fantasy, space operas, vintage video games, and sequential art in general. Read Full Review

Jul 07, 2014All in all, "DKW" is quite likeable. If you like your comics a little trippy and your tributes a little complex -- or if you're a fan of Ponchione -- you should definitely check it out. Read Full Review
