The conclusion unwittingly borrows from a scene in Dark Knight Returns, but this cross pollination does not mitigate the power behind the tale in which a child learns that her parents are not really the ideal in which she believed. Extrapolated to a more general sense, the theme gibes with the growing skepticism against cultural icons, from priests who rape children to Presidents that lie to instigate war. Vampirella's triumph is therefore of an underdog that was exploited by authority and justice against injustice. Read Full Review
