3 Devils, from writer/artist Bo Hampton, is a high-action, supernatural western that centers around a pact of vengeance sworn by a tragically orphaned Gypsy girl, an ex-slave with no soul, and a carnival freak billed as the Human Wolf. Gaining strength and courage from each other, they set off across the Old West-in search of the three hideous, inhuman entities that caused their torment and haunt their lives.

In many ways, 3 Devils is an ideal first issue, putting all the pieces in place to bring the two protagonists together and literally send them off down the road for their next adventure. While Hampton only gives us the barest of hints as to what might be coming next, he does convince us that the focus of the book will be on the characters going forward, taking them from the familiar to something entirely new. Well worn may be an apt way to describe this book, with the various tropes in play. Despite that, the book is a well crafted tale, that fans of either horrors or westerns should appreciate. Read Full Review

Comic Bastards - Pablo Arriaga Mar 16, 2016

3 Devils #1 isn't sure about what it is. It seems to grasp at trying to be gritty but fails at it. Captions attempt the Frank Miller style of narrating but comes off as cheesy, and there is no true set for a story to follow. Read Full Review
