After a disastrous defeat at the 2018 World Cup, Japan's team struggles to regroup. But what's missing? An absolute Ace Striker, who can guide them to the win. The Football Association is hell-bent on creating a striker who hungers for goals and thirsts for victory, and who can be the decisive instrument in turning around a losing match... and to do so, they've gathered 300 of Japan's best and brightest youth players. Who will emerge to lead the team... and will they be able to out-muscle and out-ego everyone who stands in their way?

As Blue Lock's first selection rages on, Isagi's Team Z has tasted sweet victory after more

An engrossing volume that successfully fleshes out Isagi and his teammates. Read Full Review

The odds against Team Z are almost too high in this third volume, but that's part of the appeal of such a ludicrous premise such as this. In my heart, I know they have to win because Isagi is our main character, but Kaneshiro makes me believe up until the moment that Team Z can lose. Isagi also has to grow a lot in this volume as his team really struggles with being betrayed. He's still not the best player on the team, but he's getting better and he's also better about motivating others to do their best (which is exactly what Ego DOESN'T want). Maybe Isagi will be able to convince Ego that Japanese strikers can be amazing and still be great collaborative players. Read Full Review
