Jun 07, 2008The resistance, in the form of such heroes as Spider-Man, Luke Cage and Iron Fist, are the good guys. They plan out next issue's attack on the Tin Tyrant and his goose-steppers to rescue the Invaders. Some though have already taken steps to extricate themselves from Iron Man's THRUSH-like organization. Read Full Review

Jun 09, 2008Avengers/Invaders #2 was an excellent read. Krueger makes it so easy for the reader to completely escape from reality and get sucked up into the story. I think that Avengers/Invaders #2 will appeal to a wide range of readers. I would definitely recommend giving Avengers/Invaders a try. This is one of Marvel's more entertaining titles at the moment. Jun 03, 2008Sadowski turns in his standard work, which couldn't get much better. Panels featuring the Invaders are presented off-kilter, reinforcing (their) sense of disorientation. Careful attention is paid throughout to shadow and light, anatomy and perspective, with very few hiccups (except for Toro; whether Sadowski can't quite "get" him or just doesn't like him, much, the young flamethrower is consistently a little... off). His architecture is among the best around, and there's plenty of it, from bridge scenes to brownstones; the Brooklyn Bridge practically constitutes another character. It's not all beer and skittles, however; the page three tight close-up of Iron Man's anatomically correct codpiece will haunt my nightmares for years to come. Fortunately, my attention was distracted by further evidence that Sadowski's Namor is the new paradigm of an old character. I described him to a friend as "crazy and feral," definitely not someone you'd want to antagonize. Read Full Review

Jun 03, 2008The fight is really the highlight of this issue, and it's handled very well. The Avengers make short work of The Invaders and that's how it should be. What's bound to happen next issue seems very forced and I'm actually not looking forward to it. Read Full Review

Jun 04, 2008All this begs the question though, should you be reading this series? It's not tied to any other ongoing current events, since it seems like everything occurs before Secret Invasion. That also limits any effect it'll have on other events outside this series. Unless you have any particular affection for the Invaders or Ross/Krueger themselves, then I would say pass it, since 12 issues is a big commitment for a very mediocre series. Read Full Review
