    I enjoyed the first Dark X-MenThe Beginning book quite a bit more than the second. That said, the second is worth checking out if you're a fan of the characters. If you aren't a fan, then by all means skip Dark X-MenThe Beginning #2, since there's nothing in the book that absolutely must be read in order to get more out of the Utopia storyline.     If you'd hoped that the chain of poor X-Men anthology issues would be broken by introducing the motley crew of Dark X-Men, that's clearly not the case. Issue #2 proves that there's little to nothing a behind-the-scenes recruitment drive can add to the "Utopia" crossover, especially since this new team has already debuted and their answers to Osborn's invitations are already set in stone.
