Tik-Tok, the clockwork man, defeats the Wheelers and learns their hidden secret. But that’s no help in battling the army of Langwidere, a princess with thirty disembodied heads. Langwidere intends to cut off Dorothy’s head for her collection—unless the Scarecrow, the Tin Woodman, and Ozma can rescue Dorothy. But how can Dorothy’s Oz friends cross the Deadly Desert to save her?

Issue #3 is a thoroughly amusing romp that sees Dorothy and her new friends encounter a new danger in the form of Princess Langwidere. This issue succeeds in building a more cohesive and enduring conflict for the series. It even offers the promise of a reunion between some beloved characters. As always, the only complaint that can be lodged against this issue is that the final page cuts off abruptly rather than offering a distinct end point. Once again, that's a minuscule price to pay for another installment of what is one of Marvel's best books, adaptation or not. Read Full Review
