Comments: It all comes down to the survival of the fittest. This is what Toma must learn outside of the classroom. This is sci-fi at its best. Toma is not merely fighting, he is fighting in behalf of the Earth. Toma is fighting for the survival of the Earth in an interplanetary tournament. If Toma loses, then he condemns all of the Earths population to be raised as food for aliens. If he loses, he also will be dead meat for the aliens known as feeders.
