While it might take some getting used to the sharp change in perspective early in the volume, Gula is definitely an enjoyable experience, a step in the right direction for the Casanova world. This kind of variation in style and tone is not very easy to pull off, but Fraction perseveres, with no small help from Moon. Seeing as there's about 5 more volumes to go, it will be curious to see if Fraction will keep on experimenting with style or settle down with a more tightly-defined formula somewhere down the line.
