Love and Capes is the kind of book that really just does it all right, provided you can get into the simpler look at superheroes. It's not grim and gritty, it's not dealing with heavy emotional issues and it's not going to be truly snarky. But it avoids going the whimsical route as well by instead just having fun with it and largely going with the kind of humor and situations that you can easily imagine would play out should this be real life. You like the two leads, you enjoy the supporting cast and mostly you can get into the chemistry that Mark and Abby share. Combine that with the really good designs that Zahler uses, a great sense of composition and backgrounds and smooth pacing in this form after being done as a webcomic and there's a lot to like. It's definitely got me looking forward to the other issues I bought and hopeful to seeing more hit as these issues slowly catch up to the webcomic. Read Full Review
