I would definitely say that this is a great book and addition to the series, but I don’t think it’s strong enough to surpass the first volume. If the overall character development had been better and the exposition toned down, then it would have had a great chance at it. It doesn’t fall victim to the sophomore slump and does a great job of revealing just enough mystery to keep you interested for the next volume; which I will now be anxiously awaiting.
