  This issue plays it a bit safe which is honestly exactly what it should be doing. It’s a new comic franchise and a superhero title at that. If you come out swinging to hard you’re bound to make the audience feel one way or the other, but with this one-shot you’re given a ton of back story for a character that previously you knew nothing about. I say “safe”, but I don’t mean that as a slam against the book. It could have very easily been boring, but instead it was a unique way of presenting a character’s backstory. I really like this character and I can’t wait to read more of her in the coming year and I especially enjoyed the double meaning subtitle to the issue. It’s brilliance was not lost on me.
