One of the things that makes this work for me is Miyazawa's artwork as it definitely has a blended manga/western comics feel to it that clicks well. It plays the teenage angle just right and Mary Jane is a delight to read as she goes through events here and shows just how smart and intuitive she is in figuring these things out. Peter's perhaps a little more “normal” than the classic/original was at this age, but it's all part of the basic modernizations that completely work. He's just your average dork here. I'll definitely be checking out more of these in the future and it's definitely one of the more enjoyable books I've read recently with its simple charms. Read Full Review
