    I also believe the over-editing on this book also crippled the pacing. We spend some time establishing mood and emotions and some background, but the lengthy, unyielding debate scenes just ground this book to a standstill. Once we hit the action scenes, the pencils by Jethro Morales keep the attention high, but as the book comes to a quick conclusion through dream sequences, the reader is left with a feeling of disappointment. More time could have been spent on the horrors of war in order for us to rebuild any sympathy for this idiot kid, and it would have made the ending powerful. Instead we get a parental argument that cripples the action, and makes the ending collapse. Read Full Review
