Titan Books, in their Simon and Kirby series has captured an era, and I think that the first chapter of “My LIfe in Comics” captures it well. In that two page missive, Mr Simon describes meeting a soldier from the civil war in 1922 who ‘shook the hand that shook the hand of Abraham Lincoln'. Somehow, the Fighting American is our modernistic extension that allows us to ‘read the book that shook the hand of the hand of the man who shook Abraham Lincoln's hand'. Read Full Review
