Wolves of Summer is a six-issue black and white miniseries written by Tony Keaton and illustrated by Andrew Herbst. This is Keatons first go at writing comics, and if this book is any indication of his skill I am eager to see more of his work. Herbst, whose deft line work and phenomenal conveyance of mood keep the story grounded in stark reality, is an Eisner Scholarship-awarded graduate of MCAD whose work also includes Copper Point and Grotto. I also hope this comic duo continues to tell stories, because they are an incredible team. You sense with every page the blood, sweat, and tears poured into the book by Keaton and Herbst. It's not glossy, perfect, or colorful. It's raw, dirty, and broken like souls at war. Read Full Review
