The three Bone cousins -- Fone Bone, Phoney Bone, and Smiley Bone -- are separated and lost in a vast, uncharted desert. One by one, they find their way into a deep, forested valley filled with wonderful and terrifying creatures. Eventually, the cousins are reunited at a farmstead run by tough Gran'ma Ben and her spirited granddaughter. But little do the Bones know, there are dark forces conspiring against them, and their adventures are only just beginning!

Bone Vol. 1: Out From Boneville (1991-2004) by Jeff Smith (Cartoon Books) My favorite run in all of comics. After all these years and rereads, the characters feel like family to me now. I couldn't wait to share them with my children. From humble buildings, to a Scholastic juggernaut. The series won eleven (11) Eisner Awards and eleven (11) Harvey Awards. I own both the original black and white hardcover versions and the new Scholastic color versions. The series is divided into nine books making three distinct acts. The first two acts are some of the best in comics. The character interactions are so enjoyable.
