Great, twisted street-level tale that does a great job of existing within the current event without being inaccessible. Anyone who loves villain-centric books or street-level crime will be satisfied.

This is the issue where the Coates/Stelfreeze run has finally come together for me. I appreciate the multiple narratives, and the historical/political/spiritual/ancestral forces at work, but until #3 I wasn't sure how they could settle into a cohesive whole. It does start to feel as if T'Challa may be the least interesting character in the series, but that may be mostly due to the fact that the supporting cast is so incredibly strong and have been given so much nuance and life even just three issues in.

If the pacing of earlier issues turned people off, this may be as good a start as any to jump into Ta-Nehisi Coates's vision of the Black Panther. This issue is all engaging action -- the kind that moves briskly and ignites the tensions that have been building. Great!

The plot, which has been brewing cautiously throughout this run, finally begins to erupt. This is an incredible contribution to a brilliant story, and I look forward not only to the conclusion of this arc but to the new places that this team will take the character after. In this issue, you get a real sense for the history that this character has, and even to a relative newcomer to the Marvel universe it effectively indulges in the past to give weight to the characters without being impenetrable. The art continues to be beautiful, and often expresses more about Moon Knight and his world than the writing can. Assuredly one of the truly essential comics out there right now.

Always a fan of this kind of story. Looking forward to what happens as the plot unravels.
