This issue is a strong start to the new comic series bringing us the classic tales sand laughs from our favourite sailor inspired Duck; Donald. Just like the Uncle Scrooge comic that started recently, this issue is comprised of various side stories and a main story filled with ruffled feathers and our classic Disney characters. The artwork is exactly what you would expect from Disney, bringing its iconic characters back to live and supplying us with the types of situations and script we can come to expect in any cartoon rendition. I simply read this comic with the characters voices in my head, even with the triplets lisps and I could not have enjoyed the issue more. Well worth picking up and following the series. Chuck's Comic Of The Day - Chuck May 26, 2015

The stories are fun, and the only mark against them is that the issue doesn't include any stories by Carl Barks or Don Rosa. But that's a minor quibble - the stories are high energy, with terrific art. Lots of fun for readers of all ages! Read Full Review

Though the stories may be vintage, the humor still works, the art is solid, and the packaging/pricing is just right. Recommended for all comic fans! Read Full Review

IDW's new Disney titles might be targeted at the younger audience, but I do see the older generation who grew up watching the Disney Power Hour and reading the Disney Magazine enjoying these stories just as much. Pick up a copy of Donald Duck #1 and roll back the years to a simpler time. Read Full Review

Donald Duck is back and it's QUACKERS!!! Lol, The first issue is a collective of four stories from the past written by Scarpa and then translated. Very much what IDW did to Uncle Scrooge they are doing for Donald, the only problem is that Uncle Scrooge was successful. Donald Duck does have a few stumbles on the way, one being the long winded set up for the first story. It took a lot to get the story going and just felt it needed a jolt of caffeine. Another thing it's missing is the gung-ho attitude of Scrooge just makes the story an adventure Donald just seems to stumble upon adventure and it just doesn't feel right. I really hope next issue it picks up.
