Have you been enjoying Jed Mackay's Avengers? I have, and I think it's right up there with Bendis and Waid's Avengers. And I am curious on your thoughts on Blood Hunt as well, since I'm surprisingly enjoying this event
It may seem like I've rubberstamped 8s for this run in my ratings, but I honestly haven't. This run is consistently solid, and I'm sad that it's only got two issues left. Alyssa Wong clearly had an idea for their run that they went for 100%, and that confidence really paid off.
NEW STATUS QUO!
Carol's connection to Yuna Yang is shattered - and the Undone is still coming! Captain Marvel reaches a point of no return!

This entire series was a slog to read. Reading this after Dark Night Death Metal made me happy Batman Who Laughs is dead. Scott Snyder has a problem with exposition where it takes up half the page, but it's executed in a sterile boring manner. The art is good, and the first issue I was hooked. But as the series went on, I lost interest and just wanted it to end.
It's the final showdown between Batman and the Batman Who Laughs... but how do you defeat a foe who knows your every instinct and every move? Bruce Wayne will have to outsmart Bruce Wayne in this ultimate test of good versus evil. You can't miss this finale to the epic miniseries that will tear up the very foundations of Gotham City!
Joshua Williamson is one of my favorite writers, and this is right up there with his non-DC/Marvel stuff. I think anyone should read this series, and I thought it ended on a more satisfying note on the same level as Birthright.
Series Finale. Arthur Dante's most haunting creation yet is brought to life, and a final sacrifice must be made to take control of Devil Land. But who will it be? Joshua Williamson, Andrei Bressan, and Adriano Lucas bring their acclaimed series to a conclusion you never saw coming!
I find the Sam Wilson storyline to be more interesting than the Steve Rogers storyline to be honest
CAP VS. FALCON!
When Falcon arrives in Mohannda, delirious and rampaging from the effects of White Wolf's chemical attack, it's up to Captain America to save his friend - or to stop Falcon from hurting anyone else. In this heartbreaking showdown between partners, Sam Wilson must make a choice about who he wants to be - and what he is willing to...
It feels like if Kieron Gillan had more time to iron things out and not be rushed, then this would have been a solid series. But overall, it's whatever. Its just meh to me.
...AND FOREVER!
Our secrets, sinister or otherwise, are over. X-MEN FORVER ends with a question - after everything, do we have Hope or not? From between the pages of IMMORTAL X-MEN and RISE OF THE POWERS OF X, the final secrets of the Krakoan Age are revealed here!

kind of strange on how morbius struggles with handcuffs, and how the tone is too goofy as well as bringing back the Beyond storyline.
Spinning directly out of AMAZING SPIDER-MAN #49, Spidey's role in BLOOD HUNT becomes clear and it involves, of course, MORBIUS! That's right, the Web-Slinger's main vampiric villain Michael Morbius is involved in the big vampire play and Peter has to figure out if he needs to take out his fanged foe or SAVE HIM?!

It's fine to be honest. I do like Shift's chemistry with the rest of the Miles Morales family.
Miles Morales, A.K.A. SPIDER-MAN, faces his greatest challenge yet - BABY SITTING HIS LITTLE SISTER BILLIE! But wasn't he supposed to fight crime with Shift? Oh, and there was a thing with Ms. Marvel! Oh no! He forgot to call Ganke back! And he's an hour late to meet Starling?! Miles' world is spinning, and he has no idea that it's all about to get...
Story was confusing a little bit, but it was still good. Unpopular opinion is I like the art in this story haha.
IN THE NEAR FUTURE...DOOM ALONE MUST SAVE THE MARVEL UNIVERSE!
Legendary creators Jonathan Hickman (ULTIMATE SPIDER-MAN, G.O.D.S.) and Sanford Greene (Bitter Root) send Doctor Doom on a journey unlike any he has undertaken before! With Valeria Richards at his side, Doom goes on a quest to harness more power than any human has ever wielded befor...
If this is the penultimate or second to final issue of this run, I got to say this has been my favorite Blue Beetle run so far
Victoria Kord's new superhero is giving Jaime a run for his money! Just what is Victoria planning, and can the Blue Beetle survive?
this was a much stronger issue, now that we know that the bad guy has been destroying Central Power Batteries so that the United Planet can be in full control of the Emotional Spectrum. The only cons were the tie-ins, but overall I liked this run so far.
How do you move on from the person you've loved your entire life? How do you start over? Carol wrestles with her feelings as she makes a choice that will change her and Hal's lives forever. Meanwhile, Hal faces off against the United Planets, hoping to bring to light its corrupt members and reestablish the Green Lantern Corps once and for all! Plus...
Really good story, and I like how this series is easy to follow.
BATMAN OR MAN-BAT?! Who will be Gotham's true protector? The people of Gotham will decide! While his father fights for his life, Damian now knows Shush's secrets, and it's only created more problems for him as a high school student and as Robin! Can the Dynamic Duo find each other before it's too late?
Joshua Wiliamson is killing it, this event is up there with Dark Crisis. I love the art, the story, the dialogue, and character dynamic on how the mystery unfolds on Lex Luthor and Brainiac
HOUSE OF BRAINIAC PART THREE Superman and Lobo have their hands full with Brainiac's Lobo army, so it's up to Supergirl and Conner Kent to stop Brainiac himself! It's an impossible battle, but they are joined by some unexpected and deadly allies!
this is officially my favorite James Tynion IV series out there. I can not wait to see how it all ends
The final battle is here as the Faerie army closes in!
The kids seemingly have nowhere to escape, with Wynd in dire straits as he takes it upon himself to battle the Faerie General.
What will it take to save the children, and more importantly, what role does Wynd's blood play in all of this?
I love the first story on how Superman gets the key to Metropolis while everyone helps him out by Dan Jurgens, Peter J Tomasi's story on how Superman traveled forward in time to reunite with his family, Superman beating Lex Luthor in chess. Geoff Johns, Scott Snyder and Tom King were fine and forgettable, which is surprising since they're great comic book writers. Surprisingly Louise Simonson's smore

With a whole new team, this book takes on a very different vibe than the first 14 issues. It's good, but different. I think MacKay has a great voice for Steve Rogers in particular.
BLOOD HUNT TIE-IN! NEW TEAM LINEUP DEBUTS!
With the current Avengers tied up and under siege during BLOOD HUNT, Captain Marvel calls for aid - and who better to assemble a new team of Avengers than Steve Rogers? I've liked 95% of what I've read from MacKay, and that includes his Avengers and Blood Hunt, although his best work is definitely still his work on Moon Knight, imo.
Trapped inside her mountain by pollution-spewing factories, the guardian spirit Zawa only has industrial waste to eat, leading her to a bitter existence of paranoia and destruction.
But when two siblings from a nearby village help her escape, they'll quickly learn that the way to calming Zawa's heart is through a well nourished stomach!
Solid series so far. I think I prefer this more than Something is Killing the children
Who will win, who will lose, and who will be caught in between?
Caught in the battle, Wynd and his friends must try to escape with their lives and resume their journey to the fabled Northport.
And while they will gain new allies, some old friends may be left behind.

The thing is, I love the art, and I like how we see Venom symbiote's thoughts on its experiences with bonding with Spidey, Eddie Brock, Lee Price, etc. But this story was kind of all over the place, and dragged this issue down for me.
A BLOOD HUNT TIE-IN!
As the earth is smothered in eternal night, VENOM unleashes their lethal justice on the hordes of bloodsucking vampires threatening the innocents of New York City. But there's one vampiric foe that thirsts not for blood - but for SYMBIOTES! Vampires aren't the only threat - the dead now rise! LEE PRICE, one-time host to th...
While it's super annoying how James Tyrion IV has to insert himself in every story to make himself sound cool.... this is still a solid issue with good art, great tension, and how the mystery unfolds.
A killer is on the loose, mimicking grisly murders from 50 years in the past. An FBI agent is in Derek's house, asking difficult questions about his boyfriend's whereabouts. And Derek is asking himself the most difficult question of all... how well does he really know Michael Schmitz? The Deviant returns as Michael's connection to the...
Plot
This comic serves as support for the Blood Hunt event, where Doctor Strange is attacked by surprise by Blade, the new leader of the vampire cult Structure, responsible for the sky being covered by a cloud from the dark dimension and in an eternal night the Vampires They attack without mercy.
Blade mortally wounds Stephen and then bites him, turning him into a vampire at his co more
A BLOOD HUNT TIE-IN!
Picking up immediately after the shocking events of BLOOD HUNT #1, Strange and Clea must help the heroes of Earth fight back against the vampire army! But is it already too late for our Sorcerer Supreme?

90 percent of the time, you give comic book issues perfect scores, or ten out of ten. I am curious, what would make an issue less than perfect in your opinion?
The plot, if the plot fails no matter the art. And I'm I just post the comics I find good and can share someting that anybody could relate too, If I read a comic I don't like or I have nothing good to say about it then I don't post it. The world has enough negativity and I'm sure I can't make a comic book, so I can't be harsh with some people that tried their best.

while art isnt up to par, I do like the way the story is going on how Daredevil and Taskmaster team up to create their own mercenary business and have to deal with Crossbones.
After botching the Montreal job and making a new enemy out of DEATH GRIP, Deadpool had the great idea to start his own boutique mercenary agency (definitely his idea! Not at all Agent Gao's!) But a startup is a lot of work, so Wade asks TASKMASTER to run it! Their first assignment? Finding out who this Death Grip is and why he's so interested in Wa...
The art is kind of a downgrade which brings the issue down, but the plot twist of someone knowing Daredevil's identity made up for it.
WASHED IN BLOOD!
The peace Matt Murdock thought he had found has started to crumble into bloody rubble - and as enemies surround Matt and Elektra from all sides, WILSON FISK makes a mysterious and dangerous return!

The art is a bit iffy and fine, but I like the story so far with Captain America leading his own Avengers to deal with Darkforce and Vampires.

I usually like anthologies, but the only stories I liked was Man-Wolf with J Jonah Jameson and Cloak and Dagger
The first in a new anthology series that explores how the shattering events of BLOOD HUNT cover the breadth of the Marvel Universe! HAWKEYE is on the run - but does he have enough trick arrows in his quiver to avoid both the long arm of the law AND vampires out for his blood?! MAN-WOLF and J. JONAH JAMESON do a little father-son bonding - while als...
This issue, written by Chip Zdarsky w/ art by Jorge Jiménez, was pretty middle-of-the-road issue that neither wowed nor disappointed. Part 3 of the Dark Prisons arc dove deeper into Failsafe’s long-term plans & sets up his interactions w/ Amanda Waller, which will play a bigger role in Mark Waid’s Absolute Power event. We also see a much more positive Bruce, who gets a surprise visit from Timmore
With no allies, no weapons, and almost no hope...can Batman fight back before Zur makes a true devil's bargain? The world is about to know Zur's true power! Him and...his new sidekick? Dark Prisons continues!
The young prince Damian Wayne was raised to be the heir to the fearsome League of Assassins--to follow in the footsteps of his deadly mother, Talia, and the Demon's Head himself, his grandfather Ra's al Ghul. But everything changed when his father, the Batman, reclaimed him and brought him back to Gotham City. As Robin, young Damian suddenly discov...
Solid issue right here
PART 1 of 3 of THE EXPLOSIVE CLIMAX OF YEAR TWO OF POISON IVY! The end times are upon Pamela Isley. The rotten seeds she has sown across America have come home to roost, and her greatest enemy has torn himself from her flesh. With the verdant villainess on death's door, is there any hope...for the rest of the world, or has the reign of Dr. Jason Wo...
Probably the best issue in zdarskys run since issue 129 imo. Very solid.

Whoops, fixed.
I personally was hesitant on Kelly Sue Deconnick/Kelly Thompson run on captain marvel but I was pleasantly surprised. I'll check on this run when I have the time based on your reviews.
