Anyone that enjoys the occasional Sunday comic will enjoy this, as well as those who may have grown up taking Calvin and Hobbes home from the library week in elementary school like me.

This is a good casual read, and is great for some quick entertainment. Fans of the movie will like this, but you don't need to be a fan to enjoy a man killing some Deadites with a chainsaw and his boomstick.

                The story is easy enough to pick up on without having seen the movies; however, getting to know the apes may necessitate a second read-through. The art done by Dan McDaid -- credited in Catalyst and Mind the Gap -- is done in a style that reflects the story. That being said, it was a little bit difficult to follow the speech patterns of the apes as well as whom they were talking to or about. Overall, Dawn of the Planet of the Apes' first issue is a good introduction with a great many directions for Moreci to expand.

    The story is an awesome tradition to the franchise, although there were a few missteps. In the panels on the first page, it was a bit hard to understand what was going on. It wasn't until later that I saw the full picture. The color tones were consistent with the genre; however some brighter explosions or blood during action sequences would make for some good contrast. Lastly, I feel that the names Romulus and Remus as names or the founders of Florida are a bit on the nose. It does raise a couple questions, though. If Romulus and Remus created Florida, then who was their wolf, and what will they fight over?

Lady Death: Apocalypse is great for fantasy fans who want to get into a new series with a rich backstory. In a book where the protagonist has been stripped of her humanity (did someone say Dark Souls?), Lady Death rages into a new territory for battle.

Memetic is a hilarious story with references from cover to cover about inernet culture. By hilarious, I also mean horrible. The art by Eryk Donovan, who works with Tynion on Thrillent's The House In The Wall, is simply frightening. The irony of the image of a happy sloth as the backdrop for macabre human masacre is wonderfully done. Donovan uses the simple image to evoke the right feeling at the right time; often, more than one feeling is present, and more often than that those feelings are conflicting. Memetic is a great read for anyone "from the internet," or simply intersted in a new horror piece. This is a great piece of Gothic horror that I believe does justice to authors like Radcliffe, Poe, and Lovecraft.

This first issue is really promising, and I expect a lot from the next few chapters. Rocket Salvage is a great read, and I recommend it to anyone who is in need of a fresh space adventure.

I would recommend this to any fans of the show, as well as anyone who enjoyed the Toonami era of Cartoon Network. That being said, this comic does have its arms open to newcomers.

The story is enough to span many issues and not tire itself out. I'm confident that whatever story comes out of the conflict in Secret Identities, it will be fresh. I cannot wait for issue #2.

The story is a great casual read for any fan interested in American fable lore, or the style of fairy tales developed by Aesop and Grimm. The narrative, as well as the art by Jorge Coelho, reminds me of videogames created by Telltale Games like The Wolf Among Us. Not having seen the television series, I did find myself needing to do a bit of research to understand what exactly a "Moloch" is. Once I did, I found myself enjoying the story more and more. The ending of last issue left readers with a teaser for this second issue, however this week we were left with a sweet ending between Abbie, Jenny, and Ichabod. With the series only two issues in, I'm inclined to believe that I'm being lured into a false sense of security, but only next week's issue will tell.

This book is stunning. This is more than a teaser for the new movie coming out this year; this is a new story in and of itself. I would recommend every fan of Star Wars read this book. The book doesn’t require a lot of prerequisite knowledge either. The only thing someone completely new to the series would need to know before reading is that the good guys are rebels and the bad guys are the Empire. Although, with Darth Vader’s oh-so-colorful attire, that explanation probably isn’t even needed. I’m excited for this comic series, and the rest of the Star Wars content still to come.
