As I am new to the character and ongoing story, I found this issue to be formulaic and reminiscent of stories past. However, it is intriguing and visually different enough to have piqued my interest in the next issue.

"Where is Jake Ellis" bears the omnipresence of a controlled society of "Eagle Eye", and the constant action and uncertainty of "Bourne" series, with a splash of "Cast Away" that is certain to wind readers as well as force them to speed read through the issue. These may appear to be demeaning traits, but they are far from that.

With everything coming to a head next issue, I am very excited to see how it ends. Will Rock save Jess from the superpowered, and brightly colored, Elyse? Can Lex and the rest of the team take down Mann Jr. and save the city? I have no idea, but I am honestly stoked to read the final issue.

Lastly we get another beautiful backup story written by Snyder, Co-written by James Tynion IV and Artist Rafael Albuquerque (American Vampire). Piecing the backup with the main story really adds fun to overall experience.
