Cry Havoc #1
Feb 4, 2016 |
As first issues go, Cry Havoc is almost seemless. It combines pitch perfect pacing with a unique take on a classic monster, and lets its art team's undeniable talent shine. It is a superb example of how to piece together the opening issue of a title while putting your own spin on a tested formula. Image comics is blessed to be able to add this to it's already impressive list of creator driven titles. |

Avengers Standoff: Assault on Pleasant Hill Alpha #1
Mar 2, 2016 |
Assault on Pleasant Hill Alpha #1 does a fine job of furthering the plot of the crossover, but the need for clumsy dialogue to catch readers up lets it down. What should have been a fun book is instead a little uneven and slow. With the rest of the story playing out over several other titles before the finale, it is hard to see how Spencer can avoid the Omega issue suffering the same problems. |

Green Lantern (2011) #50
Mar 2, 2016 |

By incorporating one of those lost elements, namely Parallax, into this latest arc, he has belatedly managed to produce a book with real promise. |

Haunted Love #1
Feb 24, 2016 |
It seems unfair to grade a book that contains sixty year old horror stories. If you are a fan of the genre, then Haunted Love was probably already on your radar. No grade, good or bad, will change the fact that you were already picking it up. Conversely, if you aren't a fan, then a 10/10 won't change the fact that you will more than likely spend the money on one of several Avengers titles. But a review demands a rating, so a rating must be given. Haunted Love is great " if you like that sort of thing. |
