Being a done in one it is the perfect small package, both story and art are good and its all wrapped up in the one issue. While you're not missing anything in the grand scheme of things, it's a fantastic single issue for fans of Mingnola's work and another great jumping on point for newer readers to the series.

Overall a solid first issue with enough to have sucked me back in and with enough grandeur to justify the high page count and higher price tag (something that's rarely done these days) it's a book for new fans and old that only just misses the mark on a perfect score.

Overall it was a fun read, and I know that the issues to come will be just as good, I just think I was expecting a bit more from a first issue.

Overall,this is a story of beginnings, andserves asa fantastic start to a book that I find myself looking forward to reading more of. Hopefully the book will bring on some new readers that are familiar with the character from hisother portrayals and won't sink back into obscurity any time soon

Leaving the reader on another cliffhanger, we seem to be moving towards more answers (although no doubt will be left with more questions instead), but I'm happy to stay on for the ride and see where this story it ends up.
