Archie Meets Batman '66 #1 |
Jul 18, 2018 |
A strong start to the crossover event, Archie Meets Batman '66 is elevated thanks to a fun script and bright, clean art. I look forward to what dastardly deeds our vile villains come up with next time and more importantly how our Riverdale gang stands up to them. |

Batman: Sins of the Father #1 |

Strong art and writing elevate Batman: Sins of the Father above what could have been a generic tie-in to a video game. The idea of Thomas Wayne as a villain helps to also make this a completely original story you want to follow to see what happens next. |

The second issue of Batman Sins of the Father continues to keep me hooked by expanding on the dark past of Thomas Wayne and the continual impact it has on not only Bruce but Batman. I'm eager to see how Deadshot fits into this overall story and hope the reveal of his motives are satisfying. |

Archie Meets Batman '66 #2 |

Some stumbles with the handling of Batman and the overarching storyline makes this issue a bit weaker than the first. The panel to panel keeps you engaged, however, and I hope issue #3 makes some minor course corrections to elevate this series beyond campy fun. |

Batman: Sins of the Father #4 |

The fourth issue dragged a bit by retreading the same ground covered in the last issue with regards to the origin of Deadshot. The saving grace was the continued fantastic artwork as well as the deeper questions posed by Gage as to what drove one man to become a hero and the other to become a villain. |

The finale of the series was a bit of a letdown after an otherwise entertaining run. Everything was wrapped up very neatly and a little too quickly, like putting the toys back in the toy box after playing with them. |
