Lucid #4 |
Apr 19, 2011 |
Of all the new series to come out Lucid is up there. Unfortunately it's slipped just a little from the first two issues and the ending in places is a bit hackneyed. But this is worth checking out, it's an original premise with some interesting characters. As I've said before if you've read and enjoyed the other issues then you're going to dig this one. If you haven't then check the first one out and see how you feel. |

Lucid #3 |
Apr 19, 2011 |
The issue leads to a cliffhanger which seems to hint that issue four will be a great wind up with plenty going on. This series so far has been consistent in terms of art and story. The pace is fast and the art is really pretty. If you enjoyed the previous issues then you'll enjoy this one. Really good new series and well worth a look. |

Soulfire Vol. 2 #9 |
Feb 17, 2011 |
A comic I recently reviewed 'Lucid' showed exactly what can be done to keep fantasy fiction fresh and original. As entertaining as Soulfire is it isn't doing anything new. It's still worth a look, especially if you've already been reading it and enjoying it. But in 2011 we need some new takes on the light-dark duality. |

Artifacts #3 |
Jan 18, 2011 |
I've read the first four issues of Artifacts so far. The only problem I had with the book was that I didn't know the characters well enough which is, of course, my fault and not Top Cow's. If you've enjoyed what's come so far you should give this a shot, it's shaping up to be a massive event" |

Artifacts #4 |
Jan 18, 2011 |
Still though it's not a bad read but something will have to be done to shake things up and keep us interested. Another issue of recruiting guys and a cliffhanger is going to make this series a little stale. |

Lucid #1 |
Dec 2, 2010 |
In closing I have to say that after I fought back my hangover and focused on Lucid I had a great time with it. It's something you haven't seen before so you should at least check it out. It mightn't be your bag but it might be something you've been waiting for. |

I always thought magic was lame, especially in comics. But I'm smitten with Lucid and really looking forward to the remaining issues. |

Pilot Season: 7 Days from Hell #1 |
Oct 26, 2010 |
All in all 7 Days is a good read and I feel like it could stem into something very impressive. Like I've stated before Martha is what's really going to either make or break this series. I can imagine some sort of crazy ass relationship with her and John. Also it would be interesting to she her relationships with the characters of heaven and hell and how John fits into all that. The potential for this book is really high even if it doesn't quite hit it in this issue. The future could be extremely bright for 7 Days. I'll surely check out the next issue or so to see if it begins to live up to my expectations. |

Witchblade (1995) #137 |
Oct 26, 2010 |
It kind of sounds like I'm ragging on Ron Marz but to be fair the writing isn't awful. The story is put together well and ultimately is entertaining if not easily forgettable. It's not something that will change the world of comics but to be fair not something that will make you vow to never read one again. All in all if you're a fan of Witchblade this isn't going to change your opinion and it's probably worth picking up. It's good but not great. But then again how often does a great comic come out of a relatively mainstream title? |
