Overall I enjoyed it and want more of this density and this world in particular. I just wasnt in love with the way it was executed here. I am however a huge champion of the concept and am eager to read the series as it goes. For all the clutter, its easy to see how the characters can break out and the creators have the right head about how to approach this material. This seems like a case where its tricky to judge a series issue by issue. Im excited to see more. In a lot of ways, this is Green Lantern as it was meant to be.

Ultimately a lot is compacted into the story and it feels routine but its exactly the type of thing youre looking for in a project like this. It gets in, gets out and looks good doing it. And at least its not evil space pumpkins.

All in all, a recommended special. Kinda dumb, gory, a few small bits of horror, and lots of fun character usage. Reminds of those great old 'What If' days. But let it end here, DC. Stop milking the cow before you see blood.
